GAUSS Dataset Resources#
The GAUSS (Geoengineering Assessment Using Stratospheric Sulfur) dataset provides climate model simulations for solar radiation management (SRM) research.
Overview#
GAUSS contains climate model outputs from multiple Earth System Models (ESMs) simulating various geoengineering scenarios, including:
Control runs (no geoengineering)
Stratospheric aerosol injection scenarios
Multiple emission pathways and time periods
High-resolution climate variables
Available Resources#
Tutorials and Examples#
GAUSS Example - Basic workflow for accessing and analyzing GAUSS data
S3 Tree Browser - Utility for exploring GAUSS data structure in cloud storage
Key Variables#
Few climate variables are available in GAUSS.
Temperature fields (TREFHT, TREFHTMN, TREFHTMX)
Precipitation (PRECT, PRECC, PRECL)
Getting Started#
Review the examples in the tutorial notebooks
